When you say nails, it’s always remembered for its aesthetic reasons. It has to be manicured and maintained regularly. However, the condition and the look of your nails can tell about something your health wherein illness or infection can be determined just by looking into it.

Nail Clubbing

The nails naturally curve upward from the base. If it goes to the opposite directions, you might have a lung disease, heart disease, liver disease or HIV infection.

Visible Horizontal Markings

These can be seen if you have a fever or currently having chemotherapy. Otherwise, these are indications that you lack zinc, diabetes or arteries and veins problem.

Spoon Nails

If you notice that your nails are curved and can hold an ounce of water, then, it can be an indication that you have iron-deficiency anemia or was exposed to high-level toxic materials over time.

White Stripes

This could mean that you have a liver problem or kidney ailment.

Whitish Nail Plate

It’s a manifestation that your liver is in serious condition. It also occurs to elderly. It can also mean that you have HIV, a clogged heart, or a form of diabetes.

If you notice any of these, it’s always best to consult your doctor right away. Prevention is better than cure.
