Improves Bladder Control for Women
Having a good sex is like working out your pelvic floor bladder. When a woman reaches climax or orgasm, it causes contractions in those muscles and strengthens them.It is important to have a strong pelvic floor for avoiding incontinence or urine leaking when a woman coughs or laughs. Some point in their lives, about 30% of women will experience incontinence.
Lowers Blood Pressure
CEO and Medical Director of Amai Wellness Joseph J. Pinzone, MD says “Research suggests a link between sex and blood pressure”.
“One landmark study found that sexual intercourse specifically (not masturbation) lowered systolic blood pressure.” He added. Systolic blood pressure is the number on you blood pressure test.
Stronger Immune System
Yvonne K. Fulbright, PhD a sexual health expert says, “Sexually active people take fewer sick days.”
Sexually active people have higher levels of immune system defending our body from viruses, germs and other health attackers. Wilkes University commanded a research and found that college students who were having sex once or twice a week had higher levels of antibodies compared to students who had sex less often.
Remember to still do the following to keep your immune system humming:
- Maintaining proper exercise and staying active
- Eating right
- Getting enough rest and sleep
- Avoiding stress
- Keeping up with your vaccinations
- Using protection before engaging in a sexual intercourse
Lowers the Risks of Heart Attack
Sex is good for the heart. Sex is also responsible in keeping your estrogen and testosterone levels in balance as it is a great way to increase your heart rate.
Pinzone says, “When either one of those is low, you begin to have lots of problems, like osteoporosis and heart disease.”
One study suggests that men who had sex at least twice a week were half as likely to die caused by heart disease compared to men who are daily having sex.
Sex is Considered an Exercise
According to Pinzone, “Sex is a really great form of exercise.” It won’t replace the treadmill, but it counts for something.
Sex uses four more calories than watching television. It pumps up your heart rate and continuously uses different muscles in your body.
So it’s time to get busy! Clear your schedule and make time for it! As per Pinzone, “Like with exercise, consistency helps maximize the benefits.”
Helps You to Get Rid of Prostate Cancer
A study which was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association says that men who regularly ejaculated (at least 21 times a month) were less likely to acquire prostate cancer.
You don’t need a partner to obtain this advantage as sexual intercourse, masturbation and wet dreams were all part of the formula.
Try to orgasm before taking an aspirin to lessen your pain.
According to a distinguished service professor at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, Barry R. Komisaruk, PhD, “Orgasm can block pain.” It discharges a hormone that helps boost your pain threshold.
Even without orgasm, stimulation can also do the trick. Komisaruk says, “We’ve found that vaginal stimulation can block chronic back and leg pain and many women have told us that genital self-stimulation can reduce menstrual cramps, arthritic pain and in some cases even headaches.”
Sex makes you knock off more quickly and it’s for a better reason.
According to West Hollywood, California psychiatrist, Sheenie Ambardar, MD, “After orgasm, the hormone prolactin is released, which is responsible for the feelings of relaxation and sleepiness.”
It is a stress and anxiety reliever being intimate with your partner.
According to Ambadar, “Touching and hugging can release your body’s natural “feel-good hormone”. Sexual arousal releases brain chemical that revs up your brain’s pleasure and reward system.”
Intimacy can enhance your self-esteem and happiness, too.
Boosts your Sexual Desire
Craving for a more stimulating sex? “Having sex will make sex better and will improve your libido,” says Lauren Streicher, MD. For women, having sex enhances vaginal lubrication, blood flow and elasticity all of which make sex feel more intense and help you long more of it.
